Pair of Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white porcelain plates, each with interior court scene, peach border and additional landscape decoration to the outer rim. Blue six character K'ang Hsi mark within concentric circles center en verso. 10 1/2" dia. Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: East Tennessee collection, by descent from Edwin V. Hill, M.D., deceased 1969. Dr. Hill was a faculty member of Tufts and Harvard Medical Schools and served as a Colonel in the U.S. Army. He collected Asian arts during his military tour in the Far East theatre, including China and Japan, prior to 1964. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. One plate with fleabite to rim edge.
