Pair of East Tennessee, Blount County, walnut bird cage candle stands. Both with oval tops above disc turned birdcage supports, over baluster standards transitioning to a tripod base with curved or slipper-style feet. One stand with additional carving to the circumference of the lower standard. Larger stand feet attached by dovetails. Both stands possibly made by the same hand. 29 in. H x 14 1/2 in. W x 21 7/8 in. D and 26 7/8 in. H x 14 7/8 in. W x 19 7/8 in. D. Third quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Marty and David Black, Rockford, TN.
CONDITION: Both with staining and minor abrasions to the top. Smaller stand with old repair to one leg.
