Eagle Pottery (James Hamilton, Greensboro, PA) stoneware pottery jug, ovoid form with cobalt stenciled decoration to the body depicting an eagle with outstreatched wings holding a banner in his beak that reads EAGLE POTTERY, with additional wavy cobalt line above and cobalt stenciled 2 (denoting capacity) with line decoration below. 14 1/2" H. Late 19th century.
CONDITION: Light chipping and glaze wear to the rim. Some indentations to the body and scattered firing flaws that appear to be in the making.
