Fitted interior with red tooled leather writing surface that lifts to reveal two hidden drawers concealed by a panel. Custom contemporary wooden stand with x-form stretcher. Writing box – first half 19th century, custom stand – 20th century. 23″H x 16 1/2″ w x 10″ deep overall. CONDITION: Some lifting to brass inlay, few abrasions to surface of box. Interior writing surface possibly replaced. Missing ink bottles and key.
