Anglo Indian equestrian portrait watercolor and gouache on paper with gilt embellishments, depicting a Mughal emperor or nobleman on horseback holding a sword and dressed in fancy attire, with attendants on foot, banner and canopy on a green backdrop with sliver of sky at the top. Inscription upper margin. Housed in a gilt frame with ribbon matte. Sight – 10 3/4" H x 8 1/2" W. Framed – 12 3/4" H x 10 1/2" W. 19th century. Note: Acquired by the consignor's father during his travels, including the Far East in the 1950's, as part of his world touring business that catered to the rich and famous. CONDITION: Overall very good condition, not examined out of the frame.
