Katherine Adams Lovell (American, 1877-1965), Impressionist oil on canvas landscape with thick impasto, depicting rolling hills in late summer. Later molded giltwood frame. 10" x 13" sight, 16" x 19" framed. Biography (courtesy Askart/The Artists' Bluebook): Katherine Adams Lovell was born in New York . She studied at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and went on to study with William Merritt Chase, Charles Webster Hawthorne, and John Fabian Carlson. She exhibited widely and belonged to several organizations including the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors. Provenance: the estate of Helen B. Patterson, Gallatin, Tennessee. Condition: Very good condition with light overall grime.
