Russian Icon of Jesus Christ Almighty (Godspod Vserderzhitel), oil or egg tempera on board with finely chased gilt-silver oklad. Hallmarked with "84" Kokosnik mark (1894-1906) and AHC or ANC mark, possibly the Firm of Sokolov (Petersburg).Mounted on a velvet covered tablet and housed in a mounted giltwood inner frame and shadowbox outer frame. Condition: some bending to silver crown, light tarnish and wear to silver, some very slight rubbing wear to painted image, and some wear togiltwood frame. Blacklight reveals no restoration to painted image. 7" x 5 5/8" image, 9 3/8" x 8" x 2" in shadowbox frame. Russian, circa 1900.
