Folk Art Doll Family, hand-sewn cotton black male, female and child dolls, each with bead eyes. Male doll carries a straw market basket, smokes a corncob pipe and wears leather sewn shoes. Female doll wears a straw hat over silk kerchief, beaded necklace and handmade leather shoes. Little girl doll has lace trimmed dress and bonnet. Very good condition with some minor wear to shoes, slight yellowing, fading and minor fraying to fabrics. 14", 13", and 4 1/2". Circa 1930. Deaccessioned by Historic Belle Meade Plantation; proceeds to benefit the restoration of the collection.
