Double dial calendar shelf clock, rectangular walnut case with arched pediment and three turned finials, conforming arched glazed door with reverse painted gilt inscription "Fashion", turned wood pillars to each side, step molded base. Label to interior with printed directions and makers: "Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston Conn., U.S.A. / Soley For Southern Calendar Clock Co., St. Louis Mo". Round white dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and outer minute track, sub-seconds dial at the 12 o'clock, printed: "Patented Dec. 28, 1875". Black spade hands and nickel plated bezel. Round white calendar dial with black Arabic outer date track with 31 divisions, month and date aperture, Dial reads "Southern Calendar Clock Co. St. Louis MO. Patented March 18, 1879". Black hand and nickel plated bezel. Movement signed: 8 day spring drive time and strike two train movement. 32" H x 16 1/8" W x 5 1/2" D. American, Late 19th century. Complete with key and pendulum.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Winds, sets and runs. Abrasion to dials mainly at the winding holes with light oxidation and discoloration to (day & date) rollers. Minor bending to both dials. Older surface finish. Minor repairs to finials.
