Pastel on paper depicting three nude women bathing along a rocky shoreline, signed lower left Gaston Cirmeuse (French, 1886-1963). White mat and beige painted wood frame. 15" x 21" sight, 24" x 29-1/2" framed. Note on the back contains biographical information about Cirmeuse: "born in Marseilles in 1886, part of the Ecole Francaise. He was a student of [Fernand] Cormon. His works were shown at the Salon des Independents and the Salon d'Automne. He won a medal for his work in 1920. The Musee de Bandal in France also has a Cirmeuse painting titled Les Baigneuses [The Bathers]. This was a theme he worked with frequently and for which he gained renown." Condition: Overall good condition with a crease on left side and some very small spots (possibly paint or ink) on the rocks at upper center. Back paper covering has some water spots that do not appear to affect the image.
