Arthur Weeks (American/Alabama, 1930-1988) oil on canvas impressionist painting depicting figures in a park illuminated by golden sunlight. Signed “Arthur Weeks” lower right and additionally signed and titled (“Figures in a Park”) en verso. Rococo style giltwood and molded frame with pierced corner ornamentation and a green wood mat. Stretcher: 20 in. H x 24 in. W. Frame: 27 in. H x 31 in. W. Biographical Note: Arthur Weeks was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Known for colorful paintings in the Fauvist style, he gained wide acclaim throughout the Southeast following a solo exhibition of his work at the Birmingham Museum of Art in 1970.
CONDITION: Painting in excellent condition. Some spotting to mat and a few small chips to frame.
