1st item: Italian School miniature pastel on paper portrait of a young man with long dark hair, blue coat and ruffled collar. Handwritten note en verso says "Galleria D'Arte Via S. Andrea / 2 Nov. 1936 / Bought after assisting Doctor during birth of Andrea – old frame was destroyed by Masnago Bomb on April 30, 1944. In later giltwood frame. Oval sight – 3 1/2" H x 3" W. Framed – 7" H x 6 1/2" W. 2nd item: Watercolor on ivory miniature portrait of a young man with reddish long hair, blue coat and white cravat. Float-mounted atop a green silk background and framed in a later stained hardwood frame with gilt rabbet edge. 1 5/8" diameter. Framed – 5" H x 4 1/2" W. Both Continental, possibly Italian, early 19th century. Condition: 1st item: a few spots of abrasion/scratching/losses including across face.
