Paul Comolera Figural Bronze of Guinea Bird with Chicks and Carved Continental Wood Head, 2 items total. 1st item: Paul Comolera (France, 1818-1897) gilt silver bronze figural depicting a guinea bird standing on a rocky with two chicks at her feet who are sharing a worm. Signed on the base Comolera and additionally marked LSF or L & F. Mounted onto an oval wooden base. 16 1/2" H x 10" W x 7 1/2" D. Late 19th century. 2nd item: Carved wood carved head of a gentleman, likely Continental, mounted atop an ebonized turned wood base. Unsigned. Bust – 10 1/2" H. 17" H w/ base. 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Martha Lyman, Dayton, TN. CONDITION: 1st item: Guinea figural with oxidation and wear to surface likely due to exposure in an outdoor setting. Base with damage and cracks. 2nd item: Bust with some natural wear to wood, slight loss left center side of base.
