Kentucky six gallon pottery jar by John A. Fashauer, Louisville, Kentucky. Tall form with straight sides and lug handles, cobalt stenciled decoration to the side reading "J. A. Fashauer, Louisville, KY", and stamped "6" below the rim to denote capacity. 16 3/4" H x 12" D. 21 lbs. Third quarter 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Lynn Scholl Renau, Louisville, Kentucky. CONDITION: One old chip to outside of rim, approx. 1/4". Firing flaw to rim, otherwise overall good condition.
