Matthew Andrew Daly (Ohio, 1860-1937), impressionistic oil on board landscape painting titled en verso "The Front Range- Este Park, Colorado" depicting the sun setting over a mountain range underneath a cloudy blue sky, with a sweeping valley, flowing river, and pine trees, foreground. Signed "MA. Daly" lower right. Titled, en verso. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 23 1/2" H x 29 1/2" W. Framed: 27 1/4" H x 33 1/2" W. Note: In addition to painting, Matthew Daly was also an artist for Rookwood Pottery, Cincinnati, OH, circa 1889.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with light grime and craquelure; light abrasion and light scattered inpainting throughout, see UV light photos for reference. slight creasing to canvas due to stretcher in the sky portion. General wear to frame.
