Werner Wildner (Nashville, Tennessee 1924-2004), two framed works depicting gnomes. 1st item: Watercolor on paper depiction of a standing bald gnome in clown makeup, holding a cane with man-in-the-moon handle. Monogrammed “W” lower left. Ripple molded ebonized frame. 8-5/8″ x 7″ sight, 11-3/8″ x 10″ framed. 2nd item: Graphite drawing of a gnome wearing an oversized hat and pointed shoes, with gouache highlights on his tasseled collars, monogrammed “W” to lower right of image. Woodgrain frame with metallic edge. 7-3/4″ x 5″ sight, 10-1/2″ x 8″ framed. Provenance: a Nashville, Tennessee estate. Condition: 1st item: two 1/16″ dark spots to upper center background. 2nd item: excellent condition.
