Sterling Presentation Pitcher, elaborate repoussé cottage and bridge pattern with rococo style decoration, central cartouche inscribed “To Sallie M. Lindsley from her mother,” flared rim with acanthus handle. Sarah “Sallie” McGavock Lindsley was the wife of Dr. John Berrien Lindsley. Her mother was Louisa Grundy McGavock, daughter of the Hon. Felix Grundy. Marks for Bailey & Co., 136 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, with pseudohallmarks denoting sterling standard.. Minor small dents, overall excellent condition. 11″ height. 37.72 oz troy.
