1st item: Double Irish Chain pattern, Colonial Revival style quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted. Rendered with cotton fabrics in colors of pink and gray. Inner diamond pattern border. Cross hatch decorative stitching throughout. Triple cable or rope decorative stitching to outer pink borders. Light quilt due to thin batting. Top applied to a two-tone gray print backing, with a separately applied binding. 85" H x 80.5" W. American, 1930s. 2nd item: Lone Star or Star of Bethlehem pattern quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted. Rendered with cotton fabrics, including shirting prints, mourning prints, and woven check designs in colors of black, red, blue, and white. Top is applied to muslin backing, which is hand stitched, folded to front for binding. 67" H x 64" W. Likely Tennessee, c. 1900 or 1910.
CONDITION: Both overall good condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Scattered minor stains. Small bleached area to star pattern quilt, 4 1/2" x 2".
