Two Chinese Export porcelain dishes with armorial crests. 1st item: deep plate or shallow bowl, slight octagonal shape with red and gilt border, gilt edge trim and crest of a dog over a shield and swag. 2nd item: Plate with slight octagonal shape, green and gilt chain style border and gilt edge trim, with crest of three unicorns and a shield with Latin motto Prorege et Po– . Both approximately 9" diameter, late 18th century. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: 1st item: 2-1/2" hairline visible on front. 2nd item: about four small rim chips/flakes, scattered imperfections to glaze on front.
