Miniature painting, rectangular, watercolor on ivory under glass, signed lower right G— (long name, Grungigan or George G–?). Depicts a female nude, full length, resting on a satin wrap with landscape containing Roman style buildings and mountains in background. Housed in a stenciled and inlaid ivory frame with copper-toned molded bezel. Sight – 2 3/8" H x 1 1/8" W. Framed – 3 1/2" H x 4 1/4" W. European, mid to late 19th century. Provenance: Collection of the late Edwin and Rebecca Raskin, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Some grime/frosting to lower edge, probably under the glass, small cracks and minor discoloration to frame.
