Miniature painting, rectangular, watercolor on ivory under glass, signed lower left K(?) Copée. Depicts a young woman with exposed breasts being waited on by a lady in waiting (combing her hair), a black child offering a letter, and a small spaniel at her feet. Classical architectural background. Molded gilt brass frame with Neoclassical style swan and urn motif applied to top edge. Sight – 5 1/8" H x 3 1/4" W. Framed – 7" H x 4 3/4" W. European, probably mid 19th century. Provenance: Collection of the late Edwin and Rebecca Raskin, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Very good condition.
