Edmund Adler (Austrian, 1871-1957), Oil on Canvas of an interior scene depicting a German girl petting a collie dog. Signed "Edmund Adler" lower right. Giltwood frame. In excellent condition. Blacklighting reveals no restoration. Sight: 17 5/8" H x 12 1/4" W, Framed: 25" H x 20" W. Note: (courtesy of AskART) Adler was a versatile artist known for his talent in conveying a natural color and expression. His abilities allowed him to paint portraits, still life, rural scenes of families and children, and landscapes of the Austrian countryside, but children were among his favored subjects. He received an appointment to Professorship at the Royal Academy in Vienna which he held for a number of years before his death. Provenance: Sevierville, TN collection.
