Four (4) Continental rectangular form wooden storage boxes, each comprised of mixed woods with geometric inlaid parquetry designs to hinged lids and/or bodies. Two (2) have interiors with rectangular trays that fit inside larger main compartments lined in magenta or light brown paper, one (1) partially lined in green paper to main compartment, lid with traces of a paper lining with French text, and one (1) unlined. Largest box includes one (1) key with a gold tassel, smallest box includes one (1) associated key. Ranging in size from 2 1/2" H x 5 7/8" W x 4 1/4" D to 5 3/8" H x 9 3/4" W x 6 3/4" D. European, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Patricia Kiegel, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All items in overall good condition with areas of loss, largest 1/2", to parquetry, areas of natural age shrinkage, largest 6". Tray to largest box is slightly warped. Smallest box appear to be missing interior tray, associated key does not fit. Middle sized box with parquetry bands with loose hardware to lid and escutcheon.
