Two (2) Alyne Harris (American, b. 1943) acrylic on board portrait paintings. 1st item: Painting titled "Portrait of Jesse Aaron (Alyne's Uncle)" depicting an African American gentleman with a white beard against a spotted background in the upper portion of the work, and the face of a younger African American man on a white square background in the lower portion (possibly a framed picture of the man when he was younger). Signed "Alyne Harris" lower right. Titled en verso. Unframed: 32" H x 11 1/4" W. 2nd item: Bust portrait on canvasboard painting of an African American woman attired in a pink blouse against a white background, her eyes cast to her left. Signed "Alyne Harris" lower right. Housed in a contemporary black frame with a linen filet. Sight: 19 1/3" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 23" H x 13" W.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Jay Justice, South Carolina.
CONDITION: 1st item: Light wear to edges of board, one scratch across face, approximately 1", one area of loss approximately 1/8". Two areas of cracking where wire was applied en verso, visible on surface of work. 2nd item: Overall very good condition.
