Hippolyte Francois Moreau (French, 1832-1927) bronze sculpture titled "Consolation" depicting an older female protectively embracing a younger female, both holding a flower basket and standing on a circular naturalistic base. Signed on the base "Hte. Moreau". 22" H x 10 3/4" W x 8" dia. 47.6 lbs. Biography: Hippolyte Francois Moreau was the son of prominent sculptor Jean-Batiste Moreau, and grew up learning from his father. He was exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1889 and 1917. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Light wear to patina to areas where the sculpture was handled over time, commensurate for age.
