Sullivan County, Tennessee lead glazed earthenware jug attributed to the Cain Pottery. Jug features tapered rim, extruded handle, incised rig decoration, and beaded foot. Glaze with general craquelure. 7 3/4" H. Late 19th Century. Provenance: The jug was discovered in Bristol, Tennessee and featured in the Tennessee Historical Society 2011 exhibition "Tennessee Turned: Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900."
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, very minute fleabite to the inner rim.
