Lot of 3 Continental Sewing Necessaire boxes with contents. 1st item: Palais Royale style leather case with carved Rococo style wood trim and applied lithographed paper portrait of an 18th century beauty. Velvet, paper and silk lined interior containing a needlecase, scissors and other small tools made of gilded decorative repousse white metal, along with a small piece of needlework with writing en verso (probably Swedish). Case measures 1"H x 6-7/8"L x 4-1/2"W. Some small losses to exterior trim, light discoloration to silk and velvet interior. 2nd item: Blue silk covered pentagonal case with mirrored, peach colored silk lined interior and four silver nandled sewing tools: needlecase, scissors, bone punch, and thimble, all marked 835 S with other illegible hallmarks and monograms. Wear to bottom of case, minor discoloration to interior fabric lining. 1"h x 5" x 4-1/2". 3rd item: Handled leather case in the form of a purse or handbag, fitted with 7 bone and celluloid sewing implements, scissors, thimble and small glass vinagrette. Moderate wear and discoloration to interior, fading to interior fabric, celluloid items may be replacements. 3-3/4"H. Continental, circa 1900. Condition: See item description.
