European marble sculpture depicting a female attired in Roman style clothing reclining on a chaise lounge, atop a conforming plinth style base with carved acorn feet. Unmarked. Together with an oval stand and glass cloche cover. Sculpture: 9 7/8" H x 11 3/4" W x 3 7/8" D. With cover: 14" W x 18" H. All items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of F. Hamilton Hazlehurst, longtime chair of the Vanderbilt University Art Department.
CONDITION: Sculpture overall good condition. Some chipping along the front right edge and rear back edge of the base, old repair to one base corner near foot, Vertical hairline with old glue residue to back of base. Cloche cover with losses along the edge.
