Chinese Export tureen with cover and underplate, oval form with blue and white landscape decoration to sides of tureen and floral decoration to cover and tray. Round knob on cover and shaped flat handles to sides. Label on underside reads "B. Forbes 1760". Platter 15-1/3" x 12-1/3", Tureen 9"H x 11" w x 4-1/2" D (excluding handles and lid). Chinese, probably Canton, late 18th to early 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Lid handle shows repaint under blacklight. Scattered minute flakes to edge and foot of platter, one to center of platter.
