Qing Dynasty archaic style bronze tripod ding censer. Circular body with twin stirrup-shaped handles and figural bird decoration, resting on a tripodal base, each tall leg with bands of incised decoration. Fitted with a carved and pierced hardwood cover having a fungus finial, and a carved circular tripod hardwood base. Retains original tag with remnants of red wax seal. 16 1/2" H (with cover and without stand). Chinese, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with general use wear. Some oxidation and losses to bronze bowl forming a hole to one lower edge, approx. 3/4" length.
