Large Neoclassical style parcel gilt mirror, featuring an openwork carved crest with grapes and leaves surmounted by a basket of flowers finial, rosette carved corners topped with flaming urn finials at the top ends; guilloche and ribbon carved moldings surrounding the rectangular glass. Dark green/black painted backing. 59"H x 30" W x 3"D. Continental, late 19th to early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of J. Fred Pilkerton, Jr., Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Repaired break and loss of portion of flower basket on crest. A couple of other small minor losses to surface and leaf tips. Warping and regluing to lower frame edge. Some cloudiness to mirror.
