1st item: English mahogany tea caddy of retangular form, ebony inlaid escutcheon and ebony string inlaid edges, top with oval brass pull. Two interior wells with satinwood covers, turned knobs and ebony string inlay. 6"H x 9"W x 5 3/4"D. Early 19th century. 2nd item: English mahogany inlaid tea caddy of hexagonal form, string and checkered banded inlay on edges and inlaid ellipses on front panel and top. Interior with wooden reeded divider, lead lining. 5 1/4"H x 10 1/2"W x 5"D. Early 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Virginia J. Cook, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: 1st item: Overall very good condition, minor losses to inlay on edges, missing interior foil lining. 2nd item: refinished, faded top and sides, warped top, losses to inlay on some edges, missing interior covers.
