Miniature finely proportioned mahogany candlestand with round dish top, fluted columnar standard atop an urn turned base and three snake feet. 21"H. English or American, possibly late 18th century. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Top exhibits scratches and stains and appropriate 1/2" shrinkage in the direction of the grain. Two legs repaired. Shrinkage to top indicates it it of the period.
