Birdseye maple veneered work table, mahogany secondary wood, with two drop leaves at side and two dovetailed drawers with ebonized string inlay and turned round knobs, the top drawer with fitted interior; curule form pedestal terminating in beaded molding atop a quadroped base. Two faux drawers on back side. 28 1/2" H x 17 1/2" W with leaves down or 30" W with leaves extended x 16 1/4" D. Provenance: the collection of Stephen and Lisa Steiner Small, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Scattered areas of veneer shrinkage and losses, most noticeably on feet; 3" scratch to one leaf and a light small scratch to the top. 1-1/2" water or heat ring to top. Legs reinforced to base with new screws. 1 knob replaced.
