18th century American Queen Anne cherry highboy, constructed in two sections, poplar secondary. Flat overhanging molded top and molded cornice. Upper section with two short drawers over four graduated drawers, lower section with full length drawer over three smaller drawers, all with batwing pulls. Scalloped skirt with finely carved central shell, cabriole legs terminating in slipper feet. 71 1/2" H x 37 3/4" W (at the widest point) x 18 3/4" D. New England, Circa 1760. Provenance: Private Lookout Mountain, TN collection. CONDITION: Overall very good condition with older refinish. Few small losses and patches to drawer corners in upper and lower sections. A couple of drawer supports missing, lower section with age crack to wood on right side.
