Kentucky 10 gallon stoneware potter jar by George W. Doane (d. 1870). Three incised lines around the shoulder and stamped "Geo. W. Doane, Manufacturer, Louisville KY" with additional star stamp and incised "10", denoting capacity. 18 1/2" H. Mid 19th century. Provenance: Private Mississippi Collection. Condition: Chip to underside of rim, tight hairline at rim extending approx. 3" into body.
