American School, second quarter 19th century, miniature watercolor portrait depicting a man with reddish brown curly hair and sideburns, possibly including some strands of human hair. Subject is depicted wearing a dark coat, tie, and white shirt, with watch fob, set against a deep blue background. Housed under glass in a rose gold colored case. Overall: 3 1/8" H x 2 1/2" W (not including hanger).
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Portrait excellent condition with minor oxidation to the case.
