Mahogany card table, attributed to Philadelphia, with hinged molded top over a plain freize and Marlborough legs, with pierced corner fretwork visually connecting the freize to the legs. Rear leg swings out to support open table top and reveal a hidden compartment. 29-1/2" H x 35" w x 17" D. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee, purchased from Jeanette Marks of Lexington, KY in 1963 (retains label for Central Antiques Shop). Condition: Old and dark but not original surface; most fret brackets are replaced. Insect damage to rear apron member. Rear leg swing fly hinge member possibly an old replacement while leg original.
