American or English Chippendale mahogany camel back sofa, arched back with scrolled arms, straight seat over four square tapered bead-molded legs to the front and four slightly flared legs to the back, all connected by stretchers. Modern blue damask upholstery with one long down seat cushion. 37 1/2" H x 93" L x 31" D. Late 18th century. Provenance: Estate of Glen and Marjorie Stewart, proprietors of The Keeping Room, Augusta, Georgia CONDITION: Repair to front right side stretcher. All stretchers reinforced at the centers with metal braces. Fading and overall general wear to damask upholstery.
