Southern Huntboard, mortise, tenon, and peg construction with yellow pine throughout and turned poplar legs. Plain rectangular top over a center double-paneled hinged cupboard door with turn-knob closure, flanked by two recessed hand chamfered panels. One interior shelf. The four legs are continuations of stiles, transitioning to turned and tapering forms with concentric ring turnings at the tops, centers and feet. Recessed side panels. 43 1/2"H x 47 1/2" W x 17 1/2"D. Possibly Alabama, Mid 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Alabama collection, ex- Cook Cleland, Penscacola, Florida.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Slight warping, minor staining, and some shrinkage cracking to top. Old split to top along the back. Some old pest damage to underside. Minor abrasions and signs of light wear throughout.
