Seven (7) George III style carved mahogany dining chairs, including one (1) armchair and six (6) side chairs. Each with yoke-shaped and carved top rails over pierced and carved interlacing splats in a Gothic arch and trefoil pattern, slip seats, and front cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet and curved rear legs. Seat with crewelwork pattern damask upholstery. Side chairs: 38 1/4" H x 22 1/2" W x 18 3/4" D. Arm chair: 39" H x 19" D x 23 1/2" W. British, 19th century. (See 4 similar chairs from the same consignor with identical upholstery, also in this auction, lot 434).
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: All chairs in overall good condition with scattered minor abrasions and wear. One (1) side chair with added seat supports. Armchair with losses to front left seat corner and replaced seat supports. Upholstery with wear and scattered staining.
