English George III diminutive figured and line-inlaid mahogany sideboard. Block front top over a conforming case, with a "hidden" frieze drawer, crossbanded with outline inlay and fitted in green baize with cutlery divisions, and flanked by one deep, compartmentalized drawer to one side and one cupboard drawer to the other, both also fitted in green baize, and with decorative keyhole escutcheons and brass pulls. A shaped apron partially conceals a Tambour front sliding compartment and the whole is supported on finely tapered legs. 36 1/2" H x 54 1/2" W x 25 1/2" D. Circa 1820.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with scratches to the top and minor scattered losses commensurate for its age. Legs have been lengthened by the addition of feet. The sides with vertical wood shrinkage.
