Antique Chinese carved lapis lazuli bowl or incense burner / censer base, the bulbous center with low relief carved geometric decoration, on a round molded foot ring, with foo lion head carved mask handles at each side. Hardwood pierced carved base. Bowl – 3 1/2" diameter (not including handles) x 1 3/4" H. Stand – 2" H. A 1960 appraisal attributes this bowl to the Ch'ien Lung period, 18th century, circa 1760. Provenance: The collection/estate of Mr. and Mrs. W. Jeter Eason, Memphis, by descent to present consignor. Condition: Repaired break or partial separation to one handle at animal's neck, otherwise excellent.
