Utagawa Hiroshige (Japan, 1797-1858) horizontal oban woodblock print entitled Hamamatsu: Winter Scene (Hamamatsu, fuyugare no zu), from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido, published c. 1833-34. Signed Hiroshige gwa, upper right, with Hoeido publisher's seal below plus Kiwame censor seal to margin, lower left. With Mayuyama & Co. label affixed to backing. Housed under glass in a gilt wood frame with black velvet and textured ivory mat. Sheet: 9 5/8" H x 141/2" W. Frame: 15" H x 21" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Gary R. Haynes.
CONDITION: An excellent impression in very good condition, with faint crease to upper left and tape applied to lower margin. Hinge mounted with archival tape.
