American school painting depicting a flock of sheep in a barn with chickens. Unsigned. Housed in a gilded contemporary frame. Sight – 21 3/4″ H x 35 3/4″ W. Framed – 25 1/4″ H x 39 1/4″ W. American, late 19th/early 20th century. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Canvas has been relined, cleaned, with in-painting in areas, primarily not affecting the cenrtal image with some touch ups around the legs of the right center sheep. Buckling to canvas, top right, top left, and lower left corners. Craquelure, surface of canvas. Area of damage, largest 1/2″, surface of canvas. 4 3/4″ abrasion, right side of canvas.
