Grouping of treenware boxes and carved horn items, 7 items total. 1st-4th items: Four (4) treenware boxes, including one (1) round black painted covered box with painted landscape scene to the lid, one (1) small rectangular black painted box with mythological painted scene to the lid, one (1) squat round lidded box with incised sides, and one (1) round lidded box with screw top lid having an English sterling silver shield with engraved initials and maker's marks. Ranging in size from 3/4" H x 3" W to 3 1/2" H x 3 1/2" dia. All 19th century. 5th-7th items: Three (3) carved horn items, including one (1) cylindrical beaker with incised landscape equestrian scene, silver metal rim and painted wood lid, one (1) smaller cylindrical cup or beaker, and one (1) oval lidded box. Ranging in size from 3/4" H x 3 3/4" W to 3 1/2" H x 2 3/4" dia. All items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Patricia Kiegel, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st-4th items: All with overall general wear. Largest box with losses to base rim, repaired break to one lower side near base. Craquelure to paint on smaller box. Silver shield on round box with denting. 5th-7th items: All items in overall good condition. Lid to tall cup with wear, losses to lower edge and slight warpage, does not sit flush to cup.
