Southern miniature chest of drawers, walnut with poplar secondary wood, rectangular top over three dovetailed drawers in descending size, each with round wood knobs, framed with quarter-round turned molding at the exterior edges. The stacked molding repeats on the paneled sides and corners of the piece; feet are extensions of the stiles, joined by an exuberantly carved shaped skirt. Paneled back. 18"H x 19"W x 10"D. American, possibly Tennessee, circa 1850. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Expected wear and abrasions, some staining and fading to top, separation to drawer bottoms. Original pulls and locks, lacking key.
