Pair of Ron Williams (Tennessee, 1947-2016) landscape painting on board, possibly mixed media. One depicts a wooded area surrounding a still body of water in shades of brown and green; the other depicts a path or stream running alongside trees with an opening to the right. Both signed "Ronald Williams" in black ink along lower edge. Writing in pink ink to paper en verso, recording old appraisal value and date on each. One painting retains "Variations Victoria" gallery label en verso. Each matted and housed under glass in a molded gilt wood frame. Both paintings: Sight: 10 1/4" H x 10 1/4" W. Framed: 14 3/4" H x 14 3/4" W. Biography: A native of Knoxville, TN and Navy veteran, Ron Williams began painting in his early adulthood and painted for over 40 years. He is best known for his numerous Hudson River School stylized depictions of Southern Highland and Appalachian landscapes, primarily depicting East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
PROVENANCE: A Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Both overall good condition. Minor streaks of in-making paint separation to left side tree area of greener landscape. Faint brown specks to sky area of landscape with body of water, possibly errant paint. Not examined outside of frames.
