Two (2) Gaspere Ruffolo (American/Illinois, 1908-1997) Asian still life paintings. 1st item: Oil on board still life depicting a Quan Yin figure against a dark russett background. Signed and dated "1939" lower left. Housed in a simple gilt frame with linen matte. Sight – 15 1/2" H x 14 1/2" W. Framed – 21" H x 20" W. 2nd item: Gaspare J. Ruffolo (American/Illinois, 1908 – 1997) oil on board Asian themed still life depicting a turquoise blue elephant, seated dark-face Asian figurine and gold bangle bracelet against a cream colored draped backdrop. Signed and dated "1936" upper right corner. Housed in a giltwood frame with linen matte. Sight – 19 1/2" H x 17 1/2" W. Framed – 25 1/4" H x 23 1/4" W. Note: Paintings from a direct descendant of the artist. Biography: Gaspare J. Ruffolo was active/lived in Illinois. He was known for portrait and marine painting. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall very good condition. 2nd item: Approximately 1" scratch to board, top right of elephant's back.
