Signed and dated East Tennnessee, Sullivan County, tiger maple and cherry one drawer stand, poplar and chestnut secondary. Comprised of an overhanging top above one dovetailed drawer, lambs tongue treatment at ends of stiles, and tall tapered rounded legs with cuffs at mid-sections. Incised name and date on the top edge of the drawer reading, "S J Akard/May 18, 1866". 26 1/2" H x 22 1/4" W x 21" D. Sullivan Co., TN, 3rd quarter of the 19th century. CONDITION: Older refinish. Top re-pegged with traces of red putty. General surface wear.
